The Yoshi Star Galaxy is a galaxy in the game Super Mario Galaxy 2. This galaxy is the first where Mario can find Yoshi.

Missions[]

Saddle Up with Yoshi[]

In this mission, Mario must get Yoshi out of his Yoshi Egg that he is trapped in by defeating the Magikoopa. Yoshi is required in this stage to help Mario get to the Power Star.

Spiny Control[]

In this mission, Mario must get Yoshi once again, and Yoshi's tongue to grab Spinies which can be spit out at certain objects in order to advance in the mission. Near the end, Mario and Yoshi must fight the Giga Lakitu.

Spiny Rainbow Romp[]

Mario has to defeat thirty Spinies using the Rainbow Stars around the area.

Green Star 1[]

The first Green Star is found above a hill on the Starting planet, where the Comet Medal is located. The player must use Yoshi and a timed backflip to be able to reach the star.

Green Star 2[]

This star is found by going to the place where you launched off in Saddle Up With Yoshi, then go to the right side until you see a green star

Green Star 3[]

During the Saddle Up with Yoshi mission, the player should make their way to the top of the Fossil Planet. They should use the flowers at the top to move their way left where the Green Star is located. A timed backflip or using the infinite flutter glitch is needed to reach the star.

Trivia[]

  • The Official Nintendo Magazine for 2010 erroneously refers to a picture of the Yoshi Star Galaxy as the Sky Station Galaxy. The photo also depicts Mario flying from the starting planet without Yoshi.
  • The Tower Planet is a returning planet from Super Mario Galaxy in Good Egg Galaxy, except with a few minor changes such as the fact that it looks slightly older and there are a few bones on it.
  • Also, the Tower Planet appears on the cover of Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the down right corner.
  • When blasting off from the Starting Planet, the volcano will erupt similarly to the Mt. Molten volcano in Melty Molten Galaxy from the first game, except that this volcano has smoke while Mt. Molten does not. Also, the player is not able to go inside the volcano, and it releases Star Bits when it erupts. Also, unlike the Melty Molten Galaxy, this Volcano simply explodes rather than continuously spewing out lava.
