Yoshi Hill, also known as Acorn Plains-3, is the third level of Acorn Plains in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. This stage introduces the Green Yoshi for the first time. Completing this course will unlock both Mushroom Heights as well as Rise of the Piranha Plants.
Features
The level is filled with rolling hills and large blue ledges. Some of these ledges are slanted. As this is the level that introduces Yoshi, advancing through the course, destroying enemies, and collecting the Star Coins are usually formed around using Yoshi.
Star Coins
- Star Coin 1: Shortly after obtaining Yoshi from the first block. Use the Yoshi's flaoting jump to propel yourself to the right of where you find him and you'll collect your first Star Coin
- Star Coin 2: As you progress through the level, you'll come across a strange V in the ground covered with two blocks. Ground poudnd them to reveal a hidden area with a red pipe. This red pipe will stage you to a subsection that contains the Star Coin. Use Yoshi's jump or use the plants to boost you to it.
- Star Coin 3: As you near the end of the level, there will be climbing platforms that lead to a bunch of Monty Moles bursting out of. Jump into the gam between the two highest ledges to find a red Warp Pipe that will lead you to the third Star Coin. The player must use Yoshi's Flutter Jump or the Squirrel Suit to collect the coin without dying.
