X Bosses are special type of bosses that first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and reappear in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. They are stronger versions of the regular bosses that were fought throughout the game. The X Bosses can be fought in the Challenge Node of Bowser's Body in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and they are fought in the Battle Ring which is located in Pi'illo Castle in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It should be noted that the X Bosses are stronger versions of the bosses that were encountered throughout the game, and also have a different color palette. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team was also the first game to feature Giant X Bosses.
