World 8-2 is the second level of World 8 in Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. The player is given a time limit of 400 seconds to complete it.
Layout[]
This is an overworld course that once again features many gaps and narrow platforms. The player will encounter another Lakitu, which will continuously toss down Spinies, as well as Little Goombas, Koopa Paratroopas, Turtle Cannons, Bullet Bills, Piranha Plants, and Buzzy Beetles. At the beginning is an elongated row of Brick Blocks, with the very first one containing a 1-Up Mushroom. The player can use the springboard below to reach it. There is only one secret underground area, located near the end of the level. It is accessed through the second-to-last pipe that contains a Piranha Plant.
Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]
In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 28000.
Red Coin locations[]
- Red Coin #1 is located on the very long row of Brick Blocks, where the 1-Up Mushroom is found.
- Red Coin #2 is located in the group of Brick Blocks following the long row of blocks. It is in the right block.
- Red Coin #3 is located in the air, following the second pipe. It is above the narrow platforms.
- Red Coin #4 is located inside a new Coin Block in the secret underground area. The player can reach it using the Hidden Block placed just before the exit pipe.
- Red Coin #5 is located between the Turtle Cannons and the stone staircase.
Yoshi Egg location[]
- The Yoshi Egg is found inside a Hidden Block following the Warp Pipe to the secret underground area.
