World 7-Castle is the final level from World 7 which appears in the game New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The boss battle in this level is against Ludwig von Koopa; defeating him allows the player to progress to World 8.

Layout[]

This is the shortest Castle in the entire game given how many Spike Pillars are in it. In this level, there are numerous Spike Pillars that the player will have to avoid. They all vary in size and speed. Sledge Bros also make an appearance here. If the player completes World 7-6, a vine will lead them into a tower of the Castle. If they choose this path, they will be taken into a hidden room of the castle. If the player goes through the pipe in the room, they will be dropped right in front of the door to Ludwig's battle.

This level begins near two Giant Spike Pillars, with a Dry Bones and two ? Blocks on a platform in between. Some moving metal platforms are encountered, with Spike Pillars in between them. Dry Bones and a Super Dry Bones are found around the metal platforms. A fast Spike Pillar is found before the midway point. A metal platform with a ? Block above it is after the midway point, with Spike Pillars around it. Two Sledge Bros. are encountered by the player, along with two Giant Spike Pillars. A lift with Spike Pillars around it is found, along with a group of three Spike Pillars together. A ? Block is found, followed by a long line of Spike Pillars. Following the Spike Pillars, a Sledge Bro can be found before the boss door. A Hidden Block containing a Propeller Mushroom is present.

Ludwig von Koopa is fought again here. Kamek forces the fight to take place on three moving platforms which change height at times. Ludwig fires four navy blue magic projectiles, then jumps to a nearby platform with flutter jumping. While he is casting his spell, you will have enough time to jump on him. When Ludwig spins around in his shell, he remains on the platform he was stomped on making avoiding him easier, a good strategy is to linger on the opposite platform to the one Ludwig is standing on, (the left and right ones rise and fall while the middle one is motionless so you will want to make sure you have the high ground when you go for your stomp as it is easier to position yourself with Ludwig when your's is higher). After three stomps, he is defeated.

Secret Room[]

If the player completes World 7-6, a vine leads them into a tower of the Castle. If they choose this path, they are taken into a hidden room of the castle with three blocks. If the player goes through the pipe in the room, they are dropped right in front of the door to Ludwig's battle.

Enemies[]

Star Coins[]

  • Star Coin 1: At least a Super Mushroom is required for this one. The first Star Coin is directly after the first area with six colliding Spike Pillars, above a row of Brick Blocks and a Super Dry Bones. Mario and co. must wait for the platform to rise, then jump on the Super Dry Bones to break enough Brick Blocks to get the Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 2: After the duo of Sledge Bros are two Giant Spike Pillars. When they are retracted, Mario and co. must jump to the lower area in between them and enter the Green Pipe. This Pipe leads to a very cloudy area with two more Giant Spike Pillars, and the second Star Coin is all the way to the right.
  • Star Coin 3: Directly after the exit Pipe from the area with the second Star Coin is another area with several colliding Spike Pillars. Inside is a ? Block which Mario and co. must hop onto and jump from to reach the third, hidden Star Coin.
