World 7-Airship is the thirty-eighth level of Super Mario 3D Land.
Layout[]
The first airship of the level features a unique spinning device that Mario must cross to reach the other side of the ship. Three more, but smaller, devices are used to cross over to the second airship. Several rotating platforms follow this small airship featuring only a Flophopper. Along these platforms, a Magikoopa appears and attempts to attack Mario. After this, a third group of more dangerous, spikey, rotating platforms appear to damage Mario. Rocky Wrenches guard the entrance to the final airship of the level, however, upon being stomped on, the Warp Pipe entrance to the ship is revealed. Within the final airship Boom Boom and Pom Pom await Mario for one final battle.
Boss Battle[]
Within the final airship of the level, Mario finds himself in a battle against both Boom Boom and Pom Pom, the bosses of the previous airship levels of the game. The two's battle patterns are the same as they are in previous encounters – the only difference now is that both are being fought at the same time. Three hits against both must be made to defeat the respective Koopa.
Star Medals[]
- Star Medal 1: The first Star Medal is located right at the beginning of the level, on the bottom of the rotating panel.
- Star Medal 2: The second Star Medal can be obtained by moving up onto the up-most red, rotating platform.
- Star Medal 3: The third and final Star Medal is found atop the final airship, on the last rotating platform of the level.
Secrets[]
- By the flag, at the very left, there is a thin platform that if Mario (or Luigi) walks on, they will find a long Question Block, they can hit it to get Coins and then jump on top of it to find a hidden block with a 1-Up Mushroom.
