World 5-1 is the first level of World 5 in Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe.
Layout[]
The player begins along a path with a row of Koopa Troopas and Little Goombas, shortly before approaching some pipes containing Piranha Plants, followed by a gap between the two. Following the second pipe is a row of Little Goombas and Koopa Paratroopas, followed by a structure of blocks, with a row of Brick Blocks above it. The one in the middle contains a Starman.
The debut of the Turtle Cannon.
Next up are more Little Goombas and Koopa Troopas, as well as the new Turtle Cannon. Beyond this is a block structure. The gap placed between the Brick Blocks and the stone pillar is a Hidden Block that holds a 1-Up Mushroom. A Warp Pipe is located above here. The player can use the blocks as a platform to reach it. This pipe leads to a secret underground area, where the player can collect some coins. The exit pipe leads right back above ground, where the player left off. Around the pipes are two more Turtle Cannons, followed by two Koopa Paratroopas leaping down from the stone stairs and floating pillar, right before the flagpole.
Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]
In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 80000.
Red Coin locations[]
- Red Coin #1 is located high above the second pipe.
- Red Coin #2 is located inside a Coin Block to the right of the Brick Block holding the Starman power-up.
- Red Coin #3 is located above the gap following the first Turtle Cannon.
- Red Coin #4 is located above the Warp Pipe leading to the secret area.
- Red Coin #5 is located inside the Coin Block in the secret area.
Yoshi Egg location[]
- The Yoshi Egg is found near the end of the level, inside a Hidden Block between the stairs and the stone pillar.
