World 4-4 is the fourth level of World 4 in Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe.
Layout[]
The player starts at the top of some stairs, followed by two small lava pits. Following this are two different paths, the top one being the correct one. In remakes, a chiming sound will be heard, as an indicator that the player has chosen the correct path. This top path consists of several small gaps, followed by a Fire-Bar further down.
Next up are three paths, with the bottom one being the correct one. This bottom path is straight path down, with the only enemy being another Fire-Bar. This path will immediately lead the player to the fake Bowser.
Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]
In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 17000.
Red Coin locations[]
- Red Coin #1 is located between two pillars from the top path in the first puzzle.
- Red Coin #2 is located over the pit of lava before the second puzzle. The player must perform a corner jump to collect it.
- Red Coin #3 is located at the beginning of the center path of the second puzzle.
- Red Coin #4 is located in the air before the boss area. Below it is a Hidden Block.
- Red Coin #5 is located in front of the fake Bowser.
Yoshi Egg location[]
- The Yoshi Egg is found inside a Hidden Block left of the single block, before the second puzzle.
