World 4-1 is the seventeenth level of Super Mario 3D Land.
Layout[]
The level begins in a small plain with a few enemies at the base of a giant rock spire. Using a pair of binoculars near-by, Mario can zoom in on a Toad and receive a 1-up Mushroom. There is a tree to the far-right corner of the plain with a hidden Propeller Block. Mario must scale the towering mountain. Along the way are several enemies, including Koopa Troopas Goombas. and at the top is the level's Checkpoint. There is also a music box that will take Mario to the level's "Coin Heaven." On the other side of the checkpoint is a tall tree that is guarded by a Chain Chomp at its base. Along the path up the tree are several Biddybuds and Piranha Plants, as well as time bonuses. At the top of the tree is the Flagpole which as five Para-Biddybuds flying around it.
Star Medals[]
- Star Medal 1: At the base of the mountain is a small block that is breakable with the Tanooki Suit and after it's broken, Mario can crouch through and obtain the first Star Medal.
- Star Medal 2: At the end of the level's "Coin Heaven," Mario will find the second Star Medal.
- Star Medal 3: The third and final Star Medal is found via the cannon near the checkpoint. This cannon, if aimed at the Star Medal, will allow Mario to take it mid-air.
