World 2-3 is the third level of World 2 in Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. The level is known for its jumping Cheep Cheeps.
Layout[]
This level consists of long bridges that the player must traverse and jump across while dodging an infinite horde of jumping Cheep-Cheeps. These fish will usually jump up from behind if the player is running, but if the player is walking, the fish will leap up from the front, increasing the likelihood of hitting the player.
In the second half of the level, there are some small platforms the player must leap across. Also, there is only one ? Block, which contains a power-up. The Cheep-Cheeps will stop jumping out once the player approaches the end of the level.
Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]
In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 23000.
Red Coin locations[]
- Red Coin #1 is located over the bridge with regular coins.
- Red Coin #2 is located just before the grassy platform in the middle of the level, over the gap.
- Red Coin #3 is located on the edge of the low platform.
- Red Coin #4 is located above the small platform in the center.
- Red Coin #5 is located on the ground next to the flagpole.
Yoshi Egg location[]
- The Yoshi Egg is found inside a Hidden Block, directly in the center of the second grass platform.
Trivia[]
- In Mario Party 10, Cheep Cheep Leap's setting took place on a bridge of jumping Cheep Cheeps similar to the ones in this Super Mario Bros. level.
- In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, There was a scene where Mario, Peach and Toad walked across a bridge full of jumping Cheep Cheeps which referencing the level itself.
