World 2-2 is the second level of World 2 in Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. It is the first underwater level in the game.
Layout[]
The first Blooper.
The player begins above ground and heads through a pipe that leads underwater. Two coins are found next to some coral, where a Blooper awaits. Three more coins are placed further ahead near the top. Next to a taller piece of coral are three more coins, followed by two more piece of coral and another Blooper. Another Blooper awaits after the fourth piece of coral. The player will then come across a current, where three coins float above the pit.
The third current.
Following this, the player will encounter the first three Cheep-Cheeps, plus another Blooper. Two more pieces of coral are found here, and three more Cheep-Cheeps and two more Bloopers approach the player. Beneath platform holding coral are three coins. Three more coins are found ahead slightly above a small platform, where a Cheep-Cheep floats above. Another piece of coral lies here, and another Cheep-Cheep passes by. Another current is found here, with five coins lined above the pit in a smiley face formation. Two Cheep-Cheeps float by here. In the following area, two more pieces of coral are found, and two Cheep-Cheeps float by. Another current lies just ahead, surrounded by two tall walls. Six coins are found here, and two more Cheep-Cheeps pass by.
In the final area are four platforms, with the top left holding a piece of coral. Four Cheep-Cheeps pass by here, and the exit pipe lies just ahead, leading the player back above water. They will emerge from a pipe containing the only Piranha Plant in this level, plus climb a staircase to reach the flagpole.
Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]
In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 25000.
Red Coin locations[]
- Red Coin #1 is located directly above the player's starting point.
- Red Coin #2 is located on the second platform.
- Red Coin #3 is located on the platform after the first strong current.
- Red Coin #4 is located beneath the third strong current.
- Red Coin #5 is located on the top platform before exit pipe.
Yoshi Egg location[]
- The Yoshi Egg is found inside a Hidden Block at the end of the structure of blocks placed above the second strong current.
