At the beginning of the level, there are four Question Blocks and a Pokey. Mario can jump over the Pokey by jumping off the blocks. After this, there is a Spiny and another Pokey, which can be jumped over by hitting the block near it. After the Pokey is jumped over, Mario will come across the first Star Coin of the level. There is a Pokey nearby it, so Mario must be careful. The Star Coin can be reached by jumping off the ledge. There is then a lift with a Pokey next to it. Past the lift, there are three more lifts with Pokeys on them. The third lift is much higher than the other ones, so Mario can jump below it when it is at its highest point to grab the second Star Coin. Mario should be careful in this area, as there is quicksand. Then there are two more lifts, one of which has a Pokey on it. There is a pit between the two lifts, so it is more dangerous than the other lifts. Then, Mario will pass the Midway Point, and he will encounter a few Brick Blocks and Question Blocks. There are thinner platforms just past this, as well as lifts, pits, Pokeys, and the third and final Star Coin. In this area, there is a tiny Warp Pipe, which can only be accessed if Mario has the Mini Mushroom. Inside it is a maze and some coins. Past that, there is a large pit which has many lifts above it. These lifts are rapidly moving up and down. At the end of the pit, there is a Pokey, and then a pipe. After the pipe, there's a few blocks and a Pokey. If Mario hits one of the blocks, he will find a P-Switch. This switch turns all coins into blocks and vice versa, making it possible for Mario to jump over the Pokey. After jumping over the Pokey, Mario will slide down the flagpole.
