World 1-4 is the fourth and final level of World 1 in Super Mario Bros. and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. It is the first castle level in the game and the entire series.

Layout[]

The player starts in an elevated area with stairs that lead downwards, eventually ending at a lava pit. Following this is a platform surrounded by lava. It features a Fire-Bar, along with a ? Block above it, which contains a power-up. Up ahead is a corridor of Fire-Bars attached to the ceiling. After this is another room with Fire Bars attached to both the ceiling and the floor. Next up is a room where the player will find several Hidden Blocks before the bridge where the fake Bowser is found. Above the bridge is a horizontally moving platform.

Challenges in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[]

In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, there are five Red Coins and a hidden Yoshi Egg to collect. The player will also obtain a medal based on their score. The target score for this level is 13000.

Red Coin locations[]

  • Red Coin #1 is located above the first ? Block in the level.
  • Red Coin #2 is located in the hallway with the Fire-Bars.
  • Red Coin #3 is located within the following area, with the Fire-Bars.
  • Red Coin #4 is located in the same area as the third coin.
  • Red Coin #5 is located just above the fake Bowser.

Yoshi Egg location[]

  • The Yoshi Egg is found inside the Hidden Block in the large empty space that has other Hidden Blocks, just before the fake Bowser.

Trivia[]

  • World 6-4 shares the same layout as this one, except with additional Fire-Bars and Podoboos.
