World 1-1 is the first level of World 1 in Super Mario Bros. 2 and its remakes Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance. In Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, it is known as Chapter 1-1, titled Ready, Set, Go! or Set out on the Great Adventure!. The boss of this level is a Pink Birdo.
Layout
The player begins by dropping down from a doorway suspended high in the air, onto a series of high stacked platforms in a darkened area. In the remake, the player will first land of some clouds, before reaching the platforms below, which are also layed out differently.
After passing through the door, the player will be lead out into the overworld, where they will encounter several Shy Guys, Tweeters, and Ninjis. Upon climbing up a vine, the player will find the first Magic Potion. Pressing ahead, the player will cross two waterfalls, and find a POW Block ahead. Further on, the player will find a door leading inside a cave, which they will need to navigate through to reach the upper section. Alternatively, by navigating through the left section of the cave, the player can blow up some brick walls to find a doorway leading outside, where they can make their way over the walls to find the Pink Birdo.
Following the regular path, on the upper section is a vine that will lead the player upwards to an area, with several stacked platforms, clouds, and vines, as well as more Ninjis and the first couple of Hoopsters. Upon reaching the very top, the player will reach the final section of the level. Here, they will encounter the Birdo.
Collectibles in Super Mario Advance
In Super Mario Advance, there are five Ace Coins to collect. Collecting all of them will reward the player with a 1-Up. In the Yoshi Challenge, there are two Yoshi Eggs to collect.
Ace Coins
- Ace Coin #1 is located on the platform where the player finds the first Magic Potion.
- Ace Coin #2 is located above the logs crossing the second waterfall.
- Ace Coin #3 is located inside the cave that is accessed through the door.
- Ace Coin #4 is located on the cloud that has the Shy Guy on it, shortly before the vines above.
- Ace Coin #5 is located on the left side of the first three vines.
Yoshi Eggs
- Yoshi Egg #1 is located at the bottom of the vine that must be ascended to reach the first Magic Potion. This is the same location the first Red Coin is collected.
- Yoshi Egg #2 is located on the hill opposite the cloud above the one containing the jar holding the Magic Potion.
