White Yoshi is a color variation of the Yoshi species. One first appears in Yoshi's Story.

A White Yoshi is one of the playable Yoshis, and one can be found in Stage 3-2: The Tall Tower or in Stage 3-3: Poochy and Nippy. Like the Black Yoshis, White Yoshis can eat things that normal Yoshis cannot, like Red Peppers and Black Shy Guys. White Yoshis are capable of fluttering further if they are a Super Happy Yoshi, and they throw eggs that explode when their Smile Meter is full. White Yoshi has the highest pitched voice, contrary to Black Yoshi's having the lowest pitch.
If White Yoshi is lost, White Shy Guy cannot bring him back unless the player has completed the game with White Yoshi in the party at least once. If a Blurp in Jungle Puddle eats a White Yoshi, it displays an upset emotion bubble, suggesting that it dislikes the taste of White Yoshi.
Yoshi Touch & Go[]
After completing a 1,000 yard run when using a Black Yoshi in Marathon mode, a White Yoshi may appear randomly. White Yoshi can hold an unlimited number of eggs, although it can only be used for one 1,000 yard run.
Yoshi's Island DS[]
White Yoshis are one of the playable Yoshis, although only in the Extra stage of each world.
