This page is on the character. For the power-up, see Invincibility Leaf.
It does everything that a Tanooki would do, except it makes the user glide a little longer, and if you get hit by a Goomba, or something else, it will disappear, similar to the Super Star, except a lot slower.
Super Mario 3D Land was the first game to introduce White Tanooki Mario. If Mario were to fail a level 3 times in a row, the game will spawn a golden block with a White Tanooki Leaf emblem on it. Hitting the block will generate a White Tanooki Leaf which will transform Mario into White Tanooki Mario upon touching it. As White Tanooki Mario, he is immune to all enemies and obstacles (the exceptions falling into lava, auto-scrolling, time out or being crushed). Besides the invincibility and different appearance, he is just the same as regular Tanooki Mario.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 introduced a similar power-up called the White Raccoon Leaf, where it does just as what White Tanooki Mario would do.
Super Mario 3D World reuses the White Tanooki Leaf, doing just as it did in Super Mario 3D Land.
