White Shy Guys are variants of Shy Guy which first appear in Yoshi's Story. In other appearances, they are a color variation.
In Yoshi's Story[]
Unlike other Shy Guys, White Shy Guys assist the current Yoshi. A White Shy Guy can only be encountered if a Yoshi has been lost. If the current Yoshi encounters a White Shy Guy in a level, it follows him and even performs the same moves up until the end of the stage. Afterward, on the next Select Yoshi screen, the White Shy Guy can be selected, and in doing so, he flies to Bowser's Castle to return the Yoshi that had been lost before.
In Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]
White Shy Guy is a color variation of the regular Shy Guy, which is red. Like the other alternate Shy Guy colors, White Shy Guy's role is only cosmetic, and he has no difference during gameplay.
