For the course from Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, see Waluigi Stadium (Mario Kart Arcade GP 2).

Waluigi Stadium, formatted GCN Waluigi Stadium as a classic course, is a recurring course in the Mario Kart series. It first appears in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, as the fourth and final track of Flower Cup. It made a reappearance as a Retro Course in Mario Kart Wii, as the fourth and final course of the Banana Cup. It also returns in wave 4 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass, being the third track of the Boomerang Cup. Shortly afterward, Waluigi Stadium was implemented into Mario Kart Tour with the 2023 Mario vs. Luigi Tour.

The track resembles Wario Stadium and Wario Colosseum from Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! respectively, but not as long and complex. Wario Colosseum also has the same background music as Waluigi Stadium.

Waluigi Stadium MKDD fire ring

Waluigi and Mario driving toward a Ring of Fire

Straight after the starting point is a bump, which has some Item Boxes on top. After this is a right turn under a bridge, which is later driven on, as well as a few small bumps. Following this is another right turn, featuring a bump and some Dash Panels, which are placed right before a Ring of Fire with an Item Box in the center, so that racers have a chance to safely pass through without getting burnt. However, it is still possible to be knocked into it or drive into it, which spins out the racer in either case. Around the course are some facial, seemingly sentient chevron signs with purple arrow signs on a black background to indicate which direction the racers must continue in.

After the first Ring of Fire is a U-turn to the right leading to more Dash Panels and then another Ring of Fire with an Item Box in the center. Just before the second Ring of Fire, the racers drive across a bridge, the same one seen earlier, and an earlier part of the track can be seen below.

Waluigi Stadium straight path MKDD

Mario and Waluigi approach a Mecha Piranha Plant

After the second Ring of Fire is a loose curve to the left, around a mud pond that heavily slows whoever drives onto it, and Item Boxes are on the curve of the track. After the large oil slick is a left turn leading to wide, straightforward path. Here, the racers encounter a few Mecha Piranha Plants, which slowly move in and out of their Warp Pipe, hindering a kart's movement if they drive into it. Between each Mecha Piranha Plant is a rotating Podoboo Cog that can burn and spin out a racer on contact. More Item Boxes can be found on the sides of the straightforward path.

After the straightforward path is a turn that leads left and into another somewhat straight path, although the ground is not as level. The straight road bends in a U-turn to the right, with another set of Item Boxes. The road twists at this part, and there is a large mud puzzle to the left. The twisty path leads to an upward slope with some Dash Panels that allow racers to dash their way through a third and final Ring of Fire, also having an Item Box in the center. This Ring of Fire is above a gap, so if a racer falls down, Lakitu arrives to pull them back on course. The finish line is straight after the gap.

In split-screen races, the Rings of Fire and jumbotron are both absent, and the Mecha Piranha Plants are inanimate.

In the distant background is an audience consisting of Toads, Boos, Hammer Bros., Snifits, Shy Guys, Toadsworths, and Donkey Kong Jr.s. Unlike the other courses, the audience members are two-dimensional animated sprites instead of three-dimensional models. The audience reacts to the player's racers accordingly, such as shouting if a racer spins out from a fire hazard.

Mario Kart Wii[]

Waluigi Stadium trick MKWii

Waluigi performing a trick in Mario Kart Wii

In Mario Kart Wii, several half-pipes were added to the side for racers to perform tricks on. The pipes with the Mecha Piranha Plants have each had their position from left to right and vice versa, and each Podoboo Cog now have four fireballs. The small hill toward the end has also been removed, and the number of Dash Panels at the ramp reduced from six to four. The facial chevron signs are now transparent with light green arrows.

Unlike in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, the crowd does not moan whenever the player's racer gets hit by an item or hazard, but still cheer if they perform a trick off a ramp. Birdos were added as audience members, although Snifits, Toadsworth, and Donkey Kong Jr. were all removed. The latter two are characters, so it is possible that they were removed so that several of them would not appear in the audience.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass[]

Waluigi Stadium instead takes place at nighttime rather than sunset. There are also neon lights placed around the course, including in the grandstands, which have been entirely redesigned. The frame of the banner above the finish line is now an angular, purple sign, and it has the Mario Kart logo, with each letter being light. The Jumbotron has been widened to feature a leaderboard, speakers, and an image of Waluigi. It also features Mario Kart TV as a sponsor. A neon yellow Waluigi Stadium sign now sits above the Jumbotron, replacing the Waluigi Kart sign in the original. The facial chevron signs that rock back and forth were removed and replaced with neon blue arrows.

The obstacles have also received some changes. Some of the Mecha Piranha Plants have changed positions, with the first two now being directly across from each other and diagonally jutting out into the air, while the last Mecha Piranha Plant retains its placement from Mario Kart Wii. There are instead two Fire Bars, which are now closer to one another. Black and red Tires are now also present as obstacles along the track, some of which are in the area with the Mecha Piranha Plants, but some are also positioned on the mud puddles to the side of the road.

Another raised route has been added after the Mecha Piranha Plants, and racers can go here by tricking off the half-pipe. There is a second route in anti-gravity, where there are some Spin Boost Pillars placed along the path and a Glide Ramp at the end. This route is added above the course, and it can be accessed via the last half-pipe. The original route is no longer as smooth of an S-turn, and the offroad is more jagged.

The Dash Panels before the final jump have been removed, but another Dash Panel has been added to the left side of the course right before the final half-pipe.

Some diggers can be found on the dirt road in the background throughout the course. This could possibly be a reference to the Gold Mantis, one of Waluigi's signature karts in Mario Kart DS.

Like GBA Riverside Park but unlike Wii DK Summit, the offroad is filled within the minimap. The course's icon depicts the large jumbotron in a different place compared to where it is in the actual course.

Mario Kart Tour[]

MK Tour Waluigi Stadium

Waluigi Stadium's appearance in Mario Kart Tour

Waluigi Stadium more closely resembles its original appearance, but it still derives elements from the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe iteration of the course, such as the jumbotron. The course now takes place during sunset again. There are three Dash Panels before the first jump instead of two, and the Dash Panels before the final jump were reinstated. The Mecha Piranha Plants have been reduced from three to two, both facing horizontally, and their positions more closely match their appearance from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. In the course's R/T variant, the Mecha Piranha Plants are instead faced vertically. The jumbotron no longer displays live footage of the race. The raised platforms accessible via the half-pipes as well as the Dash Panel before the final Half-pipe were removed from the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe iteration of the course.
