Waiters are an enemy in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.
Profile[]
Physical description[]
Waiters are light blue ghosts that wear a waiter outfit, including a white apron, a small, white hat, and a black bowtie.
Behavior[]
Waiters are the servants of Mr. Luggs, and work to continuously supply him with more food. Whenever Luigi starts vacuuming Mr. Luggs's plate of food, the Waiters arrive to provide him with more food. Unlike most other ghosts, Waiters cannot damage Luigi nor do they focus on him.
In Luigi's Mansion[]

Only two Waiters are ever encountered, and both of them are in the Dining Room. They only have 10 HP, like with Gold Ghosts. Like with most regular ghosts, Luigi can defeat a Waiter by stunning it with his flashlight and then vacuuming it into the Poltergust 3000. Waiters are unaffected by elemental attacks despite their heart neither having fire, water, nor ice protection.
Before battling Mr. Luggs, Luigi has to get him to run out of food. The main way to accomplish this is by capturing the Waiters so that Mr. Luggs cannot be resupplied with food. Alternatively, Luigi can stun the Waiters using his flashlight, causing them to disappear and reset and therefore giving Luigi a brief chance to vacuum up Mr. Luggs's food without capturing the two Waiters. When Luigi does this, Mr. Luggs becomes enraged, as usual, but the Waiters flee in terror and do not return.
