Vancouver Velocity 2 is a track in the Penguin Tour in Mario Kart Tour. It is another variant of Vancouver Velocity.

Layout[]

The course starts next to the Vancouver Convention Centre, although the racers are facing away from the Vancouver Olympics Cauldron (west according to the Mario Kart Tour map). After a right reverse curve through the Jack Poole Plaza, the racers take a sharp right, with the Science World building visible on the left. They then enter the Rogers Arena, driving through an icy rink before being launched out of a Cannon across to Stanley Park near the Lost Lagoon. The racers then race alongisde the shoreline, making a sharp right turn and then going across a pedestrian bridge that turns to the right, with the Lions Gate Bridge visible in the background. The racers will encounter two consecutive drops on their way back to the Vancouver Convention Centre, followed by a slight right that leads them beneath the Vancouver Olympics Cauldron. After a slight left shortly after, the starting line appears.

In the Nintendo Switch version of Mario Kart 8, this route is used for the second lap of Vancouver Velocity in the Booster Course Pass; however, as the racers have just finished Vancouver Velocity 1 for the starting lap and will follow Vancouver Velocity 3 for the final lap and Vancouver Velocity 2 faces the opposite direction, they traverse Vancouver Velocity 2 in reverse. As such, the racers have to climb the drops by taking to some ramps in order to make their way to Stanley Park, and the cannon has been moved from the Rogers Arena to Stanley Park facing the arena to allow them to get into the area. There is a new area underneath the cannon's flight path, so racers whose gliders break from getting struck by items (The Thunderbolt will no longer break the glider due to an update that happened prior.) will no longer be counted out-of-bounds and can continue down the road and take Vancouver Velocity 3 (which later merges with this route) instead.
