Use the Magnet to Get Rich Quick! is the sixth level of World 3 in Yoshi's Island DS, an Orange Yoshi takes control in this level. This level takes place in a jungle beach with many vines and Magnet Platforms which utilize Baby Wario's magnet, this level also utilizes the magnet to grab Coins that are out of reach and is also infamous for hiding Red Coins in various bushes. The jungle sectors of the level are widely populated by Snap Jaws and Fleepers while the beach sectors are populated by Bloopers and Boss Basses.
Walkthrough[]
Starting off the level, advance to the left and pound the Stake in the corner to obtain the Red Coin, next pull down the Magent Platforms (via Baby Wario's magnet) to reach the palm trees above as a Red Coin is a top the leftmost palm tree. After collecting the Coins, advance to the right and tag the Stork Stop, switch out your baby if you want (or remain as Baby Wario (you can also use this Stork Stop to switch to Baby Wario if you're not using him)), from here, hop to the next island and beat the Pirate Guy on the palm tree and hop up the palm trees to reach the Magnet Platforms above, use Baby Wario's magnet to grab the Coins and rise up to the tallest palm tree, there is a Winged Cloud here, hit it with an egg for some Coins, once these have been collected, drop back down and advance to the right island but watch out for the Bloopers leaping out of the water. From here, beat the Pirate Guy Stack guarding the island and pound the next Stake (which is in the way of a Magnet Block in a niche), with the Stake pounded, you can now pull the Magnet Block out with Baby Wario's magnet and use it as a platform to reach the upper ledge (alternatively, stomping on one of the Pirate Guys here also works). Once this is done, hop to the ledge and beat the Pirate Guy on the palm tree and exit the area through the right.
Upon arriving at the jungle, tag the Stork Stop and switch to Baby Wario (if you're not using him) and then walk up to the wall and launch an egg at the shrubs on the walls as a Red Coin is hiding within the highest one. From here, use Baby Wario's magnet to pull down the Magnet Platforms to reach the upper ledges but watch out for the Snap Jaws coming down from the vines above, from here, hop up and use the magnet to grab the Red Coin hiding in the shrub on the diagonally edged roof above. Advance to the right and hit the soft stone with an egg to allow the small Flatbed Ferry in the niche to move. Hop on the Flatbed Ferry and when it reaches the track's end, hop up into the niche to grab the three Red Coins hiding in the shrubs above with Baby Wario's magnet, from here, drop back down and advance to the right and hit the Winged Cloud at the dead end for some Stars, from here, use the magnet to pull the Magnet Block here to the right and drop down the narrow niche and move to the left, launch an egg to the upper right as either Baby Mario or Baby Wario (as their egg-throws bounce off walls) and have it so it hits the Winged Cloud above to reveal a Smiley Flower, toss another egg the same way so it hits the Smiley Flower to obtain it. From here, advance to the right and switch to Baby DK at the Stork Stop here, advance further to the right and fill up your egg supply with the Egg Plant on the path and be sure to beat the Snap Jaws and Fleepers that come your way. Climb up the lone vine along the path and hop into the shrubs along the roof near the vine as two of them are hiding Red Coins (they can also be gotten with egg tosses or Baby Wario's magnet), from here, watch out for any more Snap Jaws coming your way, climb up the next vine (and be sure to get the Red Coin hiding in the shrub next to the vine's top, from here, climb either the left or right vine to reach the upper vine, from here toss an egg at the Winged Cloud to score a 1-Up and grab a Key on a ledge to the left, instead of exiting through the right, flutter to the long vine to the right of the ledge with the Key and climb the vine to the top to reach a secret area.
In this next secret area, it's Coins Galore! There is a total of 268 Coins in this room with four of them being Red Coins. Switch to Baby Wario at the Stork Stop here and grab all the Coins with his magnet, most of the Coins are inside the 12 closed off blocks and four of these have a Red Coin each. Some of the Coins are higher up requiring the use of the Magnet Platforms in the room to reach them, Baby Wario can make the Magnet Platforms fling up faster (causing more height) the lower he pulls one down. Once done, flutter to the right and hop across the block platforms to the ledge to the far right and watch out for the two Dizzy Dandies in the corner to the right and grab the real Smiley Flower here as well. Once everything has been collected, exit through the Pipe below.
Upon entering the next area, drop down (you can grab the Coins from the shrubs to the side but none of these are Red Coins), upon dropping down, tag the Stork Stop and switch to Baby Mario and hit the invisible M Blocks to make a bridge to pull the Magnet Block across, from here, use Baby Wario's magnet to pull the Magnet Block out of the niche (from here, whether or not you continue using Baby Wario's magnet to pull the Magnet Block is entirely optional, you can very well switch to another baby (such as Baby DK who's pushing is stronger) to push the Magnet Block ahead), once the Magnet Block is on the switch up ahead, the metal gate will open allowing you to get the Smiley Flower, from here, you can either continue through the right via the Flippers or use Baby DK to climb the vine to the upper path (there is a Crabble on the upper path so watch out for this guy if you're out of ammo (the upper path is also the only way forward if the Magnet Block slips blow the M Blocks before they're hit)). There are several Red Coins hiding in the bushes here, as well, the first is in the shrub just ajacent to the Flippers and the next two are in the shrubs by the Magnet Platform above, the third is hiding in a shrub where the Stork Stop is being held up by a soft stone, release the Stork Stop by smashing the soft stone and switch to Baby Wario (if you haven't already) and grab the Red Coin within the bush in the niche above. Once done, watch out for the leaping Paratroopas and the Eggo-Dil as you make your way back to the Magnet Platform and grab the two Red Coins in the bushes here. From here, run through the shrub-filled tunnel here and enter the hut using the Key you obtained earlier to play a minigame (Flutter Challenge), once done, advance to the left and hop along the platforms and progress to tag the Middle Ring, from here, hop up the robot statue and advance to the right, use Baby Wario's magnet to pull the Magnet Block holding the ! Switch to the right, once you've gotten the Magnet Block close to the edge, hop on the ! Switch and race along the switch blocks and grab the Smiley Flower on the ledge above by the Eggo-Dil. From here, drop down and pull the Magnet Block down the ledge and pull it along the track, once you get it from out of the corner, switch to Baby Peach at the Stork Stop here and start pushing the Magnet Block to the right and place it on the switch to activate the wind to the right, use Baby Peach's wind-floating powers to propel upward to grab the Baby Coin, once collected, drop back down and land on the Donut Lifts (whether or not you go back to the Stork Stop to switch babies is entirely up to you but the Red Coins near the end are easiest to get with Baby Wario). From here, watch out for the Egg-enuts and the Eggo-Dil and tag the Middle Ring at the end before exiting there area through the right (you should have 18 Red Coins by this point).
Upon returning to the beach, hop on the palm trees and fly across the water by leaping on the floating Paratroopas here, you can grab the Coins in "W" formations here, there are five of these above the water and the third one also contains a Red Coin (there are several Boss Basses in the waters below so try to stay above it to avoid being eaten). Once you reach the next island, watch out for the Pirate Guy Stack and hop to the next "W"-shaped Coin formations as a Red Coin is in the second one. As you hop across the Flatbed Ferries, Boss Basses will start hopping out of the waters below attempting to eat you (these Boss Basses leap dangerously high so watch where you’re standing), the purple vertical-moving Flatbed Ferry at the end also has a Smiley Flower so be sure to grab this, from here, hop to the boat with several Pirate Guy Stacks and grab the Coins below the ledge, watch out for the Pirate Guys and hop up to the upper ledge and toss an egg at the hidden Winged Cloud above the palm tree for some Coins, from here, jump through the GOAL! Ring to finish the level.
Baby Coin Location[]
You will need Baby Peach for this Baby Coin, after pulling the Magnet Block with the ! Switch off the edge and away from the wall in the second part of the jungle sector, switch to Baby Peach and push the Magnet Block to the small switch to activate the wind (alternatively, this process can be done without the Magnet Block by using an enemy such as a Paratroopa Shell), from here, glide with the wind and grab the Baby Peach Coin above.
