Uproots are enemies encountered in the Wooded Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey.
Profile[]
Physical description[]
Uproots wear a flower pot over their heads. It must be knocked off if Mario wants to capture or defeat the creature. Underneath, it resembles an onion and has vine-like legs. Mario can knock off the creature's flower pot with his hat or a stomp.
Behavior[]
Uproots attack by stretching their legs, then leaping down onto Mario. He can capture an Uproot and use their stretchy legs to find items he could not reach otherwise.
Mario needs to use uproots to battle the boss Torkdrift, since it cannot be stomped on.
Behind the scenes[]
Etymology[]
Uproots earned their name from the term "uproot," which means to tear something out of the ground.
