"Up, Up, and a Koopa" is the twenty-first episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Synopsis[]

Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool are about to enjoy breakfast when suddenly they find themselves floating in the air. King Koopa, along with Kooky have been causing chaos in the Mushroom Kingdom by using a device named The Raiser-Upper to reverse the gravity and send the kingdom to The Sky and have captured The Sky's king, Emperor Ed. After the Raiser-Upper experiences a malfunction, the king escapes and the gravity returns to normal. Mario and Luigi find two Super Leaves in order to lift the king to his castle. They return to the ground to tie everything to the ground to keep it from floating again.

Mario and Luigi are then captured by the Koopas and they sweet-talk the Rocky Wrench nearby to let them out. Down below, Toadstool brings Toad to the castle to find two P-Wings to use to fly to the Doom Ship. Meanwhile, King Koopa and Kooky have fun by terrorizing both the Mushroom Kingdom and Sky Land using the "Chaos Mode" on the Raiser-Upper. Mario and the rest retrieve the Raiser-Upper and bring it to Toad's house to return the kingdoms to their normal positions and send the Doom Ship back to the castle.

Trivia/Goofs[]

  • How Mario and the others took the Raiser-Upper to Toad's house is not shown nor explained.
  • An instrumental version of this episode's song, "What Comes Up Will Never Come Down" was used to replace some of the featured songs in the "Super Mario Bros. Super Show."
  • This is the only episode where the characters use a P-Wing instead of an ordinary Raccoon Leaf. Why is unknown, since in the game, the P-Wing was used to make Mario and Luigi fly without running first. In the cartoon however, even with a Raccoon Leaf, the characters can fly without running.
  • When King Koopa says "the Koopa Doopa raiser upper is working perfectly", Kooky's face is Blue.
