A new untitled Mario Kart game set to be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed alongside the system in a "first-look" trailer released on January 16, 2025.

A desert-themed circuit themed after the Southwestern United States, with a sign at the starting line that says "Mario Bros. Circuit" and a Yoshi-themed burger joint.^[1] There are buttes in the background shaped like mushrooms.
- The track background bears resemblance to Radiador Springs from Pixar's Cars.

Trivia[]

In the “first-look” trailer, Donkey Kong bears strong resemblance to his design from The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
