Unagi the Eel is a Unagi found in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. It resides in Jolly Roger Bay's drop off.

History[]

When you first arrive at Jolly Roger Bay, Unagi the Eel is seen resting in a hatch in the sunken ship. Go up close to him and then swim upward. Afterwards, go back down and you will see that Unagi the Eel has come out of the Ship. Now is your chance to get in. In the remake, Unagi the Eel will come out of the Sunken Ship when you go up close.

In the next mission, Unagi the Eel is seen resting in a hole in the cove wall when you approach him, he comes out and circles the area with the Power Star attached to the end of his tail. touch the Star to remove it from his tail, if you are too slow. He will go back in the hole with the Star and you will just have to repeat the process again.

In later missions, Unagi the Eel just simply circles the area.

Unagi the Eel also makes a brief appearance in Mario Party 4 towards the end of the minigame Manta Rings. He takes three points away if collided with.

  • Since "unagi" means "eel" in Japanese, this means Unagi's name literally means "Eel the eel".
  • Unagi the Eel appears to be an electric Eel as Mario has his shock animation upon being hit by Unagi, in the remake, he no longer has a shocking contact but he does cause heaps of damage.
