Tuxie

Tuxie is a baby Penguin who appears in Super Mario 64 and its remake Super Mario 64 DS. She lives on Cool, Cool Mountain with her mother, Mother Penguin.

In Super Mario 64[]

At Cool, Cool Mountain, Mother Penguin is worried about Tuxie as she went missing and can't remember where she left her. She requests Mario to find her. Tuxie can be found on the top of the mountain, near the exact area where Mario starts. Mario must then take Tuxie to the bottom of the mountain where Mother Penguin is. In doing so, Mario earns a Power Star from her.

A similar-looking penguin can be found on the chimney of a house. When Mario brings that penguin in specific to Tuxie's mother, she says it isn't her child, because her child has her beak.

Despite Tuxie's name being a shortened form of tuxedo, her appearance has nothing to do with a tuxedo. However, anyone that's above the age of 5 knows that penguins are associated with tuxedos. That is pretty obvious.
If Tuxie is reunited with Mother Penguin and Mario then steals Tuxie, Mother Penguin gets angry and waddles to Mario with an angry face. Despite this, Mother Penguin is not angered if Mario throws Tuxie off the mountain. This is most likely an error in the programing.
