Mario Party

Tumble Temple is a Free-for-All mini-game in Mario Party 9.

Opening[]

The view is slowly adjusted from just above the lava to behind the characters while they each move onscreen to their respective positions.

Gameplay[]

Tumble Temple Perspective Mode

Tumble Temple in Perspective Mode

The characters have to dodge Spiked Balls and Giant Spiked Balls, which fall through a field of pegs that stick in and out at random intervals. If a character touches a Spiked Ball or a Giant Spiked Ball, they are eliminated. As the minigame progresses, more Spiked Balls begin to roll down to where the characters are. After 30 seconds, the two spiky pillars begin to spin, increasing the speed of any Spiked Balls that touch them. Whoever is either the last character remaining is the winner. Alternatively, if the minigame reaches the end of the 60-second time limit, any characters remaining by then are the winners.

Tumble Temple is one of the minigames that has a Reverse Minigame counterpart; the objective is the opposite, as the characters compete to have a Spiked Ball hit them first. Tumble Temple is also the first minigame played in Perspective Mode.
