Trunkle is a boss that appears in the game, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. He was first seen at the end of Teehee Valley about to attack Princess Peach.
Appearance
Trunkle appears to be an odd, tree-like creature that is actually made of rock.
Battle
In battle, Trunkle attacks mainly by rolling his fists around and sending rocks at either Mario or Luigi. He can also use a suckion attack that brings up Gritty Goombas, Mushrooms, and Poison Mushrooms to attack Mario and Luigi. After that attack, Trunkle will heal himself. After taking some damage, Trunkle will split into four little Trunkles that will attack by rolling into Mario and Luigi.
Strategy
This battle is simple as Mario and Luigi should solely focus on attacking the body. Attacking the head of Trunkle will barely do anything to the boss at all. Once Trunkle splits into four smaller ones, the real Trunkle can be spotted as his mouth will open revealing a shining light before they shuffle. It should also be noted that Trunkle's defense drastically drops once he is in this smaller form, so, when one the real one is spotted, introduce the strongest Bros. Moves to it.

Trivia
- If the Bros. visit the Little Fungitown entrance before Peach arrives in the Beanbean Kingdom, Trunkle will be seen sleeping (with two Toads freaking out behind him) thus preventing the bros. from advancing to Little Fungitown earlier than they should. In the remake, he can't be seen sleeping as you don't get the Super Hammer until after Peach arrives in the kingdom. The area can still be visited while Peach is being held hostage by the Gritty Goombas but there will be nothing there as well as no elevator either.
