The Toy Time Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. It can be found in the Comet Observatory's Engine Room. The music of the Toy Time Galaxy is a remix of the overworld theme from the original Super Mario Bros.. Mario can only access this galaxy if he has 40 Power Stars in his possession, including the Grand Stars from Bowser Jr.'s Robot Reactor, Bowser's Star Reactor, Bowser Jr.'s Airship Armada, and Bowser's Dark Matter Plant.

Missions[]

Heavy Metal Mecha Bowser[]

Mario must make his way up a robot to save the Gearmos and retrieve a Power Star.

Mario (or Luigi) Meets Mario[]

8-bit MarioLuigi Planet-1-

The 8-Bit Mario/Luigi Planet.

Mario needs to get passed the Toy Time Galaxy, and needs to pass the Screw Planet by collecting the 5 Star Chips and proceeding to the 8-Bit Planet with lave, green shrinking squares and flipping yellow squares and Mario needs to collect 5 Silver Stars and will earn a Power Star and will complete the mission. The 8-Bit planet is usually Mario from Super Mario Bros. and behind it is Luigi where you need to collect 150 Purple Coins, but you can collect 100 Coins just to pass. To unlock it, a Purple Comet will appear and this mission will appear. It appears to be difficult, because you also have limited time to finish this mission.

Bouncing Down Cake Lane[]

Mario must make his way to the end of Cake Lane and destroy the Undergrunt Gunner. This Undergrunt Gunner uses electricity in his moveset, including putting up a shield.

The Flipswitch Chain[]

Mario has to feed a Hungry Luma 50 star bits. After his meal, the Luma will become the Chain Planet.

Luigi's Purple Coins[]

This mission is only accessible, unless already completed, when there is a Purple Comet in orbit. The player has to get 100 Purple Coins in an 8-bit Luigi in a time limit of 3 minutes.

Fast Foes of Toy Time[]

This mission is only accessible, unless already completed, when there is a Fast Foe Comet in orbit.

Planets and Areas[]

Starting Planet[]

This ring-shaped planet has a toy track, two stations (Mario lands on the "southern" one) and a Launch Star whose location and destination change depending on the mission. In the third mission, the train goes in the opposite direction.

Train Planet[]

This planet is made out of gears and many colorful block that resembles a train engine. This planet also features pink walls with various gravity levels. This planet contains two 1-up Mushrooms.

Block Planet[]

This planet is made out of blocks and conveyor belts and also features the Spring Mushroom.

Plate Planet[]

This planet is made out of a big plate, with a glass with a Launch Star, a fork, and a spoon.

Big Mecha Bowser[]

This area features a big toy robot made to resemble Bowser on a conveyor belt. It also has green surfaces for Mario to walk on on its chest and legs. In order to defeat this robot, Mario must destroy all the breakable bricks on its head.

Screw Planet[]

This planet features metal and wood parts with a huge screw sticking through it. In order to continue, Mario must collect 5 Star Chips.

8-bit Mario/Luigi Planet[]

Mario visits this planet during the conclusion to his second mission in the galaxy, Mario Meets Mario. It is a planet that looks like Mario's sprite, in the oldest games form. Its opposite counterpart is Luigi, in the same conditions (the oldest games). The red clothes are lava, while his "skin" is a series of moving platforms. For Luigi, it's all about poison, but the moving platforms are here too. This side of the planet is accessible only when playing the Purple Comet mission. The eyes, hair, and boots are represented by green tiles that shrink and disappear when Mario walks on them on both planets; these tiles are also his only way back, and he cannot walk on their frames, so they must be used sparingly when Mario heads over to the main body of the planet. The landing spot is a large brown square with a yellow star on both planets.

Spring Mario Cake Planet[]

This is a planet that is composed of a circular platform that looks like a cake roll slice, with two walls that look like cake slices. Mario can use the Spring Mushroom to make his way up the walls. (Performing a triple jump or a backflip followed by a mid-air Star Spin attack will also work, but is harder as the walls start just high enough such that Mario will just barely reach their bottoms.) The next area is a conveyor belt that has moving walls that Mario can clear with the Spring Suit's Super Bounce ability.

Spinning Cake Planet[]

Mario lands on this planet after his trek through the previous planet. This planet consists of a plate with a slice of cake on it and a larger cake with a Black Hole in the middle. Mario must climb onto the bigger cake by using the cake slice as a platform, then use a Wall-jump to make his way to the top of a wall that is blocking off an otherwise-cheesable path to a Launch Star that leads to the Ice Cream Cone planet.

Ice Cream Cone Planet[]

Mario lands on this planet after his trek through the Spinning Cake Planet. It is basically an oversized ice cream cone. Four popsicles are visible near its "head" and act as poles for Mario to climb, allowing him to access the first Rotating Lollipop Planet.

Rotating Lollipop Planets[]

These are two rotating lollipop wheels that serve as platforms, visited by Mario after the popsicle poles. Only their heads can be touched. A spiked laser ring launcher haunts the centre where the lollipops have their handles joined to form each wheel. The first wheel has four lollipops, while the second has two.

Ice Platforms[]

Bridging the two Lollipop Planets are several platforms that consist of ice, forcing Mario to move carefully, lest one move will cause him to fall into the void, resulting in a life being taken away. The ice platforms share their gravity with the Rotating Lollipop Planets and the Cannon Planet.

Cannon Planet[]

This planet comes after the second Rotating Lollipop Planet. It is composed mainly of ice, just like the ice Platforms, but there is a stone mountain that carries a Cannon at its centre.

Cake Planet[]

This round planet has a pipe that goes to a secret planet whose interior Mario can walk around on. There are five candles whose glow keeps a Launch Star locked away.

Undergrunt Gunner's Cake Planet[]

This planet has an Undergrunt Gunner.

Chain Planets[]

These planets are two intertwined squares that have normal gravity, and their surfaces have flipswitch panels. Tox Boxes are found here; in the Fast Foe Prankster Comet mission, they become Fast Tox Boxes. One planet has a gap in the corner where a small brown square-shaped planet resides; the Power Star spawns here.

Mario can only access this planet when a Hungry Luma on the Screw Planet has been fed 50 Star Bits. This leads to the Mission the Flipswitch Chain, which is only accessible from Mario Meets Mario.

Gear Planets[]

On his way to the Train Planet, two large gears will appear near the path that Mario takes. These gears share their gravity with the Train Planet, but are inaccessible unless someone hacks the game.
