Super Mario Mario Party

Torpedo Teds are underwater torpedo variants of Bullet Bills which first appear in Super Mario World.

Profile[]

Behavior[]

Torpedo Teds are released from a Skull Box by a robotic-gloved hand. Torpedo Teds continue straight forward before either hitting Mario or another playable character or from going off-screen.

In Super Mario series[]

Super Mario World[]

Torpedo Ted SMW sprite

Torpedo Teds and Skull Boxes only appear in one level, Soda Lake. Due to the level's underwater setting, Mario or Luigi cannot jump on a Torpedo Ted to defeat it.

Super Mario Galaxy[]

Torpedo Ted are found in underwater areas in Buoy Base Galaxy and Drip Drop Galaxy. They home in on Mario in a similar manner to Bullet Bills in the same game.

New Super Mario Bros. U[]

NSMBU Torpedo Ted

Torpedo Teds and Skull Boxes make a reappearance, both acting similarly as in Super Mario World. They only appear in two levels, Larry's Torpedo Castle and The Mighty Cannonship, during the Bowser Jr. battle. Torpedo Teds also appear in New Super Luigi U, although Skull Boxes do not.

Torpedo Teds were given a red homing variation, Targeting Ted, launched from Red Skull Boxes.

In Super Princess Peach[]

Torpedo Ted SPP sprite

Torpedo Teds function the same as in Super Mario World, but now have a variant named Glad Torpedo Ted, which is imbued with the vibe of Joy. In their Glossary entry, Torpedo Teds are described as being an underwater counterpart of Bullet Bills.

In Mario Party 10[]

Torpedo Teds appear as obstacles in the mini-game Blooper Blast-Off, being launched from Skull Boxes as usual.

Unused appearances[]

Torpedo Teds were planned to appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but were scrapped during development for unexplained reasons.
