Mario Party

Mush Pit is a recurring 4-player minigame in the Mario Party series. It first appears in Mario Party 3, as Toadstool Titan, and returns in both Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars under its current name.

Layout[]

Toadstool Titan takes place in a room with light blue walls and 2D Warp Pipes that are located on the wall. There are various Brick Blocks that appear along the ceiling of the room.

Gameplay[]

The characters will be required to break the brick blocks in order to find a Mushroom. Once a character gathers a mushroom, they will increase in size and have the ability to knock other characters out of the arena. The normal size characters cannot harm a giant-sized character and should avoid them while in this state. The mushroom's effects only last temporarily, which means the giant character will return to normal size after the effects where down. The characters will then be able to look for the mushroom again in the brick blocks once they return. The last character remaining will win the mini-game.

In Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars, the Mushroom has been changed to a Mega Mushroom, which transforms the user more quickly, and the Mega Mushroom theme plays while they are under its effects.

Controls[]

Etymology[]

Toadstool Titan got its name from how the players have to find the Mushroom it involves. Mush Pit's name comes is a portmanteau of the phrase "mosh pit" and "Mushroom."
