A Timer is an item in the Super Smash Bros. series. It first appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and returns in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Description[]
The effect of picking up a Timer generally slows the flow of time for every opponent of whoever picked up the Timer. Whoever is affected by a Timer moves very slowly, making it harder for them to dodge attacks and leaving them more vulnerable to being KO'd. However, a Timer sometimes only slows whoever picked it up, or even both the user and their opponents. Regardless, the Timer's effects are temporary, so the flow of time eventually returns to normal for every character.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the background turns purple, while players that are slowed down are surrounded by a spiraling effect.
