Tilt Island is a minigame in Super Paper Mario. It can be played at the Flipside Arcade.
Gameplay[]
Tilt Island is played by holding the Wii Remote horizontally, like in the main game but unlike other minigames. The player can play as either Mario, Peach, Bowser, or Luigi and move their character by tilting the Wii Remote left and right accordingly.
The goal is for the character to catch falling desserts (including Peachy Peaches, Mango Juices, and Fruit Parfaits) for points and to try to collect enough to advance to the next round. However, they must avoid the Squigs, Spinies, and Spiky Tromps that fall on the island. Enemies can be defeated for a number of points, depending on the type of enemy. If the character either touches an enemy or is tilted off of the island, they lose a life. There are three lives in total, so if the player loses all of them, it is a Game Over. The game has a total of twenty levels, and if the player clears all of them, they win.
Unlike other minigames in the Flipside Arcade, the player's performance in Tilt Island can be influenced by whom they play as. Peach and Bowser tend to be larger targets and move at a slower pace, leaving them a lot more prone to being damaged by falling enemies. Contrariwise, Mario and Luigi are smaller and faster.
