Mario Party

Thwomper Room is a Free-for-All minigame in Mario Party 9.

Opening[]

A closeup is shown of the two Thwomps in the center, both of which open their eyes and slam onto the floor, shocking the characters. The camera zooms out to show the whole room, which consists of six Thwomps.

Gameplay[]

The characters have avoid touching the falling Thwomps within a time limit of thirty seconds. A Thwomp's eyes open just before it crashes to the floor, projecting that it is about to fall. If a character touches a Thwomp, they are eliminated. It is possible for a character to jump onto another character to temporarily squish them, slowing that character's movement. However, this technique can backfire, as it could make it more likely for the jumping character to touch a Thwomp, especially if the targeted character jumps themselves, sending the other character up where the Thwomps are. The winner is either the last character remaining or anyone who has not been eliminated by a Thwomp when time runs out.

Thwomper Room is one of the minigames that has its own Reverse Minigame variation, in which whoever gets taken out by a Thwomp first is the winner.
