Thunder Lakitus are a variant of Lakitu capable of shooting lightning bolts. They first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
Physical description[]
In the Yoshi's Island series, Thunder Lakitus have pink skin and wear a red shell, but their cloud is otherwise the same as a regular Lakitu's. In Mario Power Tennis, Thunder Lakitus share an appearance with regular Lakitus.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]
These pink Lakitus first appear in the level, BLIZZARD!!!. They can shoot out ball of energy that temporarily puts the ground on fire, which moves out in a disappearing wave shape. A Thunder Lakitu indicates when it is about to attack by making a loud noise and causing the screen to flash.

Thunder Lakitus are only encountered in one level, Bandit Valley.

In Mario Power Tennis[]
A Thunder Lakitu has a major appearance in DK Jungle Court, where they can clear the field of Klaptraps by burning them with lightning bolts in the Gimmick Courts mode.
