Super Mario WarioWare

The Princess's Secret Slide is a secret course in Super Mario 64 and its Nintendo DS remake Super Mario 64 DS. It has two Power Stars; one for completing the course, and the second one for sliding to the bottom in under 21 seconds.

The entrance to the slide's on the first floor, just perching atop the central staircase. It's on top of the door marked "1" which should indicate that only one Power Star should be necessary to enter the level.

In the room behind the door of three identical stained glass windows (two in the DS remake), all with photographs of Peach on them. The DS version allows for character doors, but the slide itself remains as it was, and it's still accessible via a (larger) picture of Peach.

In WarioWare: Move It!, the first difficulty level of the boss microgame Super Mario 64 DS takes place in The Princess's Secret Slide iteration from Super Mario 64 DS iteration of it.

Star 1[]

The first star is obtained by simply sliding down the course. The Star is located in a ! Block. Once you reach the bottom, hit the block to obtain the Star.

Star 2[]

The second star, however, has to be obtained by completing the course in twenty-one seconds or less. This can be done easier by holding up on the Control Stick, D-Pad, or Circle Pad.

Trivia[]

  • When Mario enters to his right, there is a blue coin block. Hit it and blue coins will become available for the first few seconds of the track.
  • It is actually possible to get an extra life (by coin) without the block but this would require collecting all the gold coins.
  • Like most secret star courses, Mario can't die just by falling down a bottomless pit
  • The second star can be obtained by jumping off of the left after Mario gets past the beginning tunnel which would put someone at around eighteen seconds if done correctly.
  • The tune that plays in the course is a variation of the Bob-omb Battlefield theme (aka, the main theme of the game), as well as Cool, Cool Mountain's music. The music is also remixed in Super Smash Bros. Melee, as well as in Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the Tall Trunk Galaxy level "Tall Trunk's Big Slide", and in the Rolling Coaster Galaxy. Another remix can be heard in Paper Mario: Sticker Star in World 4-6: Bowser's Snow Fort, during the mine cart sections.
  • The message after Mario collects the first star incorrectly states that the room that leads to this secret course is on the second floor. It is on the first floor, but just a higher section.
