The Great Deflate is a 2-vs-2 minigame in Mario Party 4 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Layout[]

The minigame takes place at a beach with two palm trees in the background, one on each side. Seagulls fly around in the background, creating an ambient effect.

Opening[]

An inflatable Thwomp falls onto the ground, and the camera zooms out, revealing a second inflatable Thwomp as the teams land on each respective one.

Gameplay[]

Both characters on each team must ground-pound an inflatable Thwomp enough to completely deflate it. The higher the jump before the Ground Pound, the more air gets deflated. The first team to completely deflate their inflatable Thwomp wins. If neither team has completely deflated their inflatable Thwomp within 30 seconds, the game ends in a tie.

Ending[]

In Mario Party 4, the members of the winning team do their winning animations whilst the members of the losing team do their losing animations.
