Terrible Portraits are a sub-boss in Wario World.
Profile[]
Physical description[]
Terrible Portraits are an entity consisting of three photo frames, with a large one in the middle and a smaller one on the left and right sides of it each. The middle frame has a face resembling a carved jack-o-lantern while the two smaller frames each have a white arms sticking out of them.
Behavior[]
A Terrible Portrait's arms summon a different element or object to attack Wario. Its first attack involves summoning a large fireball that homes in on Wario. The second attack is similar, except it involves using electricity, which travels in a straight line at a much faster speed than the fire. A Terrible Portrait's third attack is summoning a large boulder that slams down onto the ground in its attempt to crush Wario. A Terrible Portrait's fourth and final attack is summoning a giant ice ball. The main portrait also creates Barrel Busters, and it goes out of range if Wario is close to it.
In Wario World[]
There are only two Terrible Portraits, both of which only appear in Mirror Mansion, around the middle of the course and toward the end respectively. If Wario is frozen by an ice ball, he does not take damage but rather becomes frozen, leaving him vulnerable to further attacks from the Terrible Portrait. To free Wario from the ice ball, the player must wiggle the Control Stick.
To attack a Terrible Portrait, Wario has to stun one of the Barrel Busters it spawns and perform a Piledriver on them while standing under an arm to damage it.
