Behind the Scenes[]
Etymology[]
Technikki takes her name from the feminine name "Nikki," merged with the suffix "techno-," which describes something related to technology and is descended from the Greek word tékhnē ("skill" or "means"; written τέχνη), fitting for her nature as an inventor.
Nomenclature[]
Technikki is known as Gimiruda (written ギミルダ), which comes from a combination of gishi ("engineer"; written 技師) and a Japanese translation of the name "Milda." Her Chinese name, Gōngchéngshī, means "engineer," though her name is written 宫程诗 to distinguish from the term for an actual engineer (written 工程師). In Spanish, she is called Ingénia, from ingeniero ("engineer"), and Portuguese calls her "Intelekta" (a corruption and genderbender of intelecto ("intellect")). In Italian, she is called Ingénia, from ingegno ("ingenuity") and a feminisation of génio ("genius"). French translates her name as Ingénette, from ingénieure ("engineer"). Her German name, is Doctor Voltson, with "Voltson" coming from volt with the surname suffix -son ("son of") slapped onto the end. Korean translates her name as Tekeunita (written 테크니타), from a Korean transliteration of "technique" merged with the name Nita.
