Tanooki Mario is a playable character that appears in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He was released as part of a DLC package on November 13, 2014.

Overview

Tanooki Mario looks just like Mario, but his outfit is a racoon-styled onesie. Not much else is known about Tanooki Mario except that, being a form of Mario, he may be in the middleweight class.

• Tanooki Mario, along with Cat Peach are the second characters that are power-ups that appear as separate characters in the Mario Kart series. The first is Metal Mario.
