Swipin' Stu

A Swipin' Stu is a variant of Winged Strollin' Stu and an enemy which appears in Super Mario Sunshine.

Physical description[]

A Swipin' Stu is larger than a Winged Strollin' Stu. On the bottom it is dark green with white spots, and the dark green pattern extends up to the top of a Swipin' Stu's head. A Swipin' Stu has slightly darker skin than a Strollin' Stu.

Behavior[]

A Swipin' Stu tries to attack Mario by landing on him when he walks underneath it. If a Swipin' Stu lands onto Mario, it steals his cap, much like what Klepto does in Super Mario 64, although when a Swipin' Stu does this, it somehow sprouts the same type of mustache as Mario's.

In Super Mario Sunshine[]

Swipin' Stus are only encountered on the beach area of Pinna Park, during Episode 5: The Runaway Ferris Wheel, Episode 6: The Yoshi-Go-Round's Secret, Episode 7: Shadow Mario in the Park, and Episode 8: Roller Coaster Balloons. Mario can defeat a Swipin' Stu by either ground-pounding it or by having FLUDD spray water at the Swipin' Stu so that it falls into the ground temporarily, giving Mario a chance to jump onto the Swipin' Stu to defeat it. A Swipin' Stu drops five coins upon being defeated.
