Super Mario Sunshine is a 9-Volt & 18-Volt microgame which appears in WarioWare: Smooth Moves and an 18-Volt microgame in WarioWare Gold. The microgame is based on and shares a name with the Nintendo GameCube game of the same name.

Layout[]

In both of its appearances, Super Mario Sunshine involves Mario using F.L.U.D.D. to spray water at something to clear it. In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mario has to use F.L.U.D.D. to extinguish fires within a burning building, a scenario that never occurs within game that it is based on. WarioWare Gold's iteration of the microgame is more befitting to the theme of the main game, as it involves Mario having to clear brown Goop. The brown Goop is attached to the wall of a building in Delfino Plaza, specifically in what appears to be Bianco Square, something that the brown goop cannot do within the main game itself.

Gameplay[]

In both games, F.L.U.D.D. sprays water automatically, and the controls involve the player having to direct where the water is sprayed.

In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, the player has to point the Wii Remote to where the fires are. Levels 1, 2, and 3 feature one, two, and three fires to extinguish respectively.

In WarioWare Gold, the player has to tilt the system to adjust the aim either up or down. Levels 1, 2, and 3 feature two, three, and four patches of goop to extinguish respectively.

Trivia[]

  • Similar to The Wind Waker, another microgame based on a first-party Nintendo GameCube game, each difficulty of Super Mario Sunshine plays a different portion of the same theme as background music. For Super Mario Sunshine, it plays the Delfino Plaza theme.
