WarioWare

Super Mario Brothers is a microgame which appears in 9-Volt & 18-Volt's stage in WarioWare: Smooth Moves. The microgame is based on Super Mario Bros., directly reusing assets from said game except upscaled, but does not spell "Bros." in shortened form.

Layout[]

The microgame takes place in an overworld level in Super Mario Bros., and the display is more zoomed in than the regular game. The HUD is intact except for the time limit. Both the score and number of Coins start at zero. According to the display, the level takes place in World 1-1. Collecting a Coin adds to the Coin counter, and each Coin is worth 200 points, just like in the actual Super Mario Bros., although this is only for aesthetic. Whenever Mario jumps, he holds up a Wii Remote while doing so.

In Level 1, Mario stands underneath a Coin Block resembling a Brick Block. Levels 2 and 3 feature a series of Brick Blocks and Question Blocks, and the way in which they are laid out is not seen in the original game. Level 3 features the same layout as Level 2 but with an added Goomba or pit at the start.

Gameplay[]

The goal is for Mario to collect at least two Coins from a Block. The player can have Mario jump by swinging up the Wii Remote. If Mario does not collect at least two Coins, the player fails at the microgame.

In Level 1, Mario, in his Super form, stands in a fixed position, and he has to jump least twice to obtain Coins from the Coin Block. Up to six Coins can be obtained from it before it becomes an Empty Block.

In Level 2, Mario remains in his Super form, but now moves automatically as he moves by the Brick Blocks and Question Blocks. Some of the Brick Blocks contain Coins.

Level 3 is mostly the same as Level 2, but Mario is now in his Small form and has to avoid either a Goomba or a pit at the start.
