Trivia[]
- The Super Mario series was technically co-developed with The Legend of Zelda franchise, as their first games were made simultaneously by the same development team, and some games shared ideas between each other. Coincidentally, they also share the same amount of core installments released.
- This sub-series of the Mario franchise has sold over 430 million copies worldwide so far, making it the sixth-best selling video game series, beaten by Tetris, the Call of Duty series, Nintendo's own Pokémon, and Grand Theft Auto.
