Sunset Beach is essentially Koopa Beach during a sunset, as the only differences are that a Red Shell is the backboard for both teams' basketball hoop, not a Green Shell, and there are no pirate ships appearing as obstacles.

Sunset Beach is an unlockable court that can be unlocked by playing an exhibition match between the hours of four and six PM, according to the time set on the system's internal clock. Sunset Beach is classified as part of the Mushroom Tourney, despite never being played in said tourney.
