Stone-Eyes are based on the Moai statues from Easter Island. They have eyes which move to follow the player. in the Stone-Eye Zone, they are brown, while in the Deepsea Ruins, they are grey.

Behavior[]
Stone-Eyes are either stationary or swing back and forth. Their movement patterns can either assist Mario or hinder him.
If Mario performs a spin jump near a Stone-Eye, the Stone-Eye's eyes roll. Additionally, a Stone-Eye near his location will watch his movements.

Mario and company encounter Stone-Eyes that can act as obstacles in the Layer-Cake Desert course in Mario Golf: World Tour. Brown Stone-Eyes can be seen out-of-bounds.
The Balmy Dunes course in Mario Golf: Super Rush features Stone-Eyes, and one mission involves one of them carrying a pot into which Mario and his friends have to launch their balls.
In Mario Party 10[]
The Stone-Eyes make an appearance in the minigame, Fruit Scoot Scurry. Here, Mario and company have to hop between them to get the fruits that spawn randomly on top of them.
