Star Sphere

Star Spheres are an object which only appear in Super Mario 64 DS.

Description[]

A Star Sphere is a transparent sphere-shaped object hovering slightly above the ground. A Power Star can appear in there if Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, or Wario either collects all five Silver Star or activates a Star Switch, which varies between some of the courses' missions and secret Power Stars.

Whenever a Star Switch is pressed, the Power Star only appears in its Star Sphere temporarily, so the character has to quickly make their way to the Power Star before it disappears. If it does, the character has to step on the Star Switch again so that the Power Star can reappear inside of its Star Sphere. For Silver Star missions, a Power Star can disappear from its Star Sphere if the character loses any of the five Silver Stars they collected. In this case, the character has to collect the missing Silver Stars for the Power Star to appear again.

When the character touches a Star Sphere with the Power Star inside, it automatically shatters as they obtain Power Star.
