Star Gate

Star Gate is a character who appears in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. He serves as the gateway to the Star Shrine. The Star Gate allows Mario and Luigi as well as their baby counterparts, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, to enter the Star Shrine when he finds that the former two have pure hearts (as he already knew the babies are pure of heart).

The Star Gate is widely disliked because of his cruel treatment of Luigi, for no exact reason, even if he did it to see if Mario would defend his brother. He shames Luigi during a test question for not choosing the 4th answer: Everyone, even though he only gave him three answers.
