Mario Party
Not to be confused with Stamp Out, a microgame in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase.

Stamp Out! is a 4-player minigame in Mario Party 4. It later returns in Super Mario Party Jamboree.

Layout[]

Stamp Out drawing pad texture

Texture used for the drawing pad

The minigame takes place on a giant drawing pad depicting some hills and clouds with eyes and also what appears to be Princess Peach's Castle. It is placed on a carpet-like floor with a yellow and light blue-checkered pattern. Various toys appear next to the drawing pad, such as a yellow car, a few crayons to the left, a Mushroom stamp on its side, and a few building blocks, but they are only for decoration.

Opening[]

The drawing pad and various toys fall onto the floor. The four character then fall onto the drawing pad, each riding a stamp machine.

Gameplay[]

The stamp machines used by each character are essentially a cross between a pogo stick and a stamp. As they move, each stamp machine automatically produces a stamp pattern of a different color—either red, blue, yellow, or light pink—each corresponding to a character. The object for each character is to try and fill more of the drawing pad with their colored stamp patterns than their opponents. The stamp machines only bounce around, leaving behind a trail of color in the process. It is possible for a character to charge their stamp machine for farther jumps as well as to override the opponents' stamp patterns with their own.

After the 30-second time limit is up, the minigame calculates the percentage of each color on the drawing pad. Whoever has the highest percentage of stamps wins, but if all characters only covered less than 5%, the minigame ends in a draw.

Controls[]

  • Control Stick - Change direction
  • A Button - Hop

Flavor text[]

  • Game Rules: Try to stamp as much of your color as possible. If everyone stamps less than 5% of the field, it's a tie!
  • Advice: Holding A Button longer allows you to jump farther. Experiment to find a pattern that works for you.
