Spikey is a hedgehog-based enemy which appears in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. They are named for having small spikes all over their back. Spikeys are only encountered in Tree Zone's first level, Invincibility!.
A Spikey tries to attack Mario by curling up into a ball and then rolling toward him. Despite having spikes, a Spikey can be defeated by being jumped on, whereas other spiked enemies typically damage Mario if he jumps on them.
